Suction filters

Suction filters perform an important task: they protect the pump from sucking in dirt. After all, many problems in hydraulic installations are caused by contaminated oil. With suction filters, the aim is always to use a filter that traps all impurities and offers as little flow resistance as possible. Spin-on filters (screw filters)

Spin-on filters can be used as suction filters or as return filters. The function of the filter is often determined by the type of filter head. Return filters

Return filters are designed to filter the oil flows that are discharged to the oil reservoir. Return filters are available in various designs: Spin-on filter element with head, suitable for pipe mounting. Tank top filter, this filter is mounted on the tank. Replacement of the filter element is easy. Reasons for using a return filter: Minimal investment Less wear on the hydraulic system, resulting in greater operational reliability. Easy to maintain. Various materials and filters available. Available with dirt indicator.

Tips:  Choose a return filter with the correct filter capacity and connections.  (The oil that is drained to the oil reservoir may be greater than the yield.) When using a tank top return filter, ensure that the return oil is returned below the oil level of the oil reservoir to prevent foaming.

Pressure filters

Pressure filters for low, medium, and high pressures are often used in hydraulic systems. Most pressure filters have a bypass valve so that the filter element is not damaged if it is contaminated or if the oil flow exceeds the filter capacity. When pressure filters are used immediately after a pump, they protect all users and components from dirt and wear. Filtration machines

Not every hydraulic installation is equipped with the necessary filtration systems, which means that the oil cleanliness class is not guaranteed. In that case, it is an interesting option to clean the oil by means of bypass filtration in order to guarantee the cleanliness of the oil. Filter indicators (dirt indicators)

Filter indicators, also known as dirt indicators, are used to provide clarity about the filter condition. When a filter element becomes dirty, the filter condition deteriorates. Filter indicators indicate when a filter element needs to be replaced. Oudshoorn Hydraulics supplies both optical and electrical dirt indicators from stock. Most of the filters we sell are already prepared for the use of filter indicators as standard.
