Accumulator

Different forms of energy can be stored in different ways. The desire to store energy may arise from the need to have a supply for later use or to guarantee the operation of a circuit or structure thanks to the influence exerted by the accumulators used. A hydropneumatic accumulator is a device specifically used for storing liquid under pressure.
Since liquids are incompressible for all practical purposes, this is achieved by utilising the compressibility of gases. A flexible rubber separator, i.e. a diaphragm, is inserted into the accumulator shell.
